Last night I overcame a huge fear by going LIVE on Facebook and Instagram to discuss my book. I had no idea what to expect and had never done a LIVE event before. Lately, though, I've had to attempt to teach/reach my students through my computer screen, so I've had plenty of practice talking to my screen, knowing that there would be no response. After pacing around my kitchen for an hour beforehand, I calmed down pretty quickly once it got started. I've never been one to very openly share my thoughts, so this was a huge step for me. The viewers asked great questions that helped me keep it moving, and even though I thought of about a billion things I would've liked to have said after the fact, it all seemed to go pretty smoothly. And, thankfully nobody asked me some of the harder, more personal questions I was anticipating. Thanks peeps! This book, while VERY much fiction, for the most part did follow the actual timeline of my own senior year of high school. It was somewhat of a personal release for me, like a story that had been buried inside of me for years came out and was released into the wind like a feather.
And IT. FEELS. GOOD!
Thanks again to everyone who joined in for my LIVE event and for all of your support and love.
